Cherry Republic’s Controller is responsible for maximizing return on financial assets by establishing policies, procedures, control and reporting systems. This person is also responsible for the collection, analysis, interpreting and reporting of financial data to make recommendations designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results and ensure that reported results comply with accepted accounting procedures.

Summary of Duties

  • Manages all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting and revenue.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and conforms to financial condition by conducting audits.
  • Maximizes return, and limits risks, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
  • Prepares budgets. Collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements. Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Defines benchmarks and implements operational best practices.
  • Maintains all necessary professional credentials.
  • Additional controller duties as needed.

Necessary Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state / national regulations.
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement accounting related improvements or recommendations.
  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Proven leadership skills with ability to effectively manage various personality types.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license with 5 -10 years of experience in the field preferred.

We are accepting applications for energetic, motivated Front of the House servers and beer tenders to work in our Brewery & Restaurant this summer! Our ideal candidate will be empowered to deliver superior customer service to all of our visitors and have a deep knowledge base of our delicious food items and specialty beers.

You must be able to do the following tasks — or willing to learn how!

  • Assist with the day-to-day flow of the Public House.
  • Greet guests while delivering superior customer service.
  • Ensure an ideal guest experience.
  • Be able to take customer orders using the Point of Sale system.
  • Deliver delicious food and beverages.
  • Bus tables in indoor/outdoor seating areas.
  • Provide a clean, safe environment for everyone.

We are accepting applications for Prep & Line Cooks for the Back of the House in Glen Arbor this summer. If you have a passion for delicious cuisine and have kitchen experience, please apply now! We have full time and part time positions available in our newly renovated Cherry Public House.

You must be able to do the following tasks — or willing to learn how!

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Set-up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Prepare a variety of foods: meat, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Cover, date, and correctly store all pieces and food prep items.
  • Use food preparation tools in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Return dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas.
  • Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.
  • Open/close kitchen correctly and follow checklist for kitchen stations.
  • Answer, report, and follow Culinary Manager’s instructions.

Our Retail Sales Associates are customer-facing employees who enjoy meeting new people, promoting our cherry products to visitors, and providing excellent customer service.

You must be able to do the following tasks — or willing to learn how!

  • Work in a face-paced environment with a SMILE.
  • Act as a representative who genuinely cares about helping people.
  • Complete sales transactions through the Point of Sale system.
  • Arrange and stock shelves.
  • Maintain cleanliness of both the inside and outside of the store.
  • Wash windows, doors and bathrooms.
  • Provide EXCELLENT customer service to all Cherry Republic customers!
  • Quickly learn product information and convey it to customers.
  • Have general knowledge of computers and use of the Internet.
  • Have knowledge of geographical area in order to assist tourists.
  • Have ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
