Cherry Republic’s Product Manager (PM) is responsible for developing and leading the overall product vision and strategy for individual products and categories across our various sales channels including brick and mortar, e-commerce, catalog, wholesale, and business gifts. Overseeing a range of unique cherry-based categories from chocolate, wine and gifts, to bakery and homegoods, the PM’s main functions include product development and lifecycle management, optimizing category/channel mix through sales and market analysis, pricing strategy and generating/analysing marketing insights -- all in an effort to provide the highest quality product to Cherry Republic’s (CR) Citizens and meet sales/margin plans.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and lead CR’s product vision and strategy. Identify product opportunities, category gaps, and customer pain points, then collaborate with designers, production staff and vendors to refine and enhance the product line.
  • Product Lifecycle: Utilize best business practices to manage products from concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast cost, mass production, promotion, support and end of life stages.
  • Product Development: Direct the research, development and success of new food products and the Red Ladder homegoods line, with strong multi-departmental communication and processes.
  • Product Promotion: Work with marketing and sales team members to create brand-forward marketing campaigns to expand brand reach and market share, including web and retail merchandising.
  • Pricing Optimization: Define optimal pricing through sales trend analysis, market competition, buying habits, and merchandising of products to drive sales and profitability.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and draw actionable conclusions from various data sets including sales, production, sampling, market conditions and customer insights to drive informed decision making. Also direct the Product Specialist in their data duties.
  • Market Assessment: Assess market competition by comparing Cherry Republic’s products to competitor’s products with the goal of realizing opportunities.
  • New Vendor Relationships: Research and begin strategic relationships with potential vendors. Work alongside the purchasing team to negotiate contracts and product terms.
  • Leadership, Management and Accountability: Encourage success and professional growth and development of the Product Specialist role.

Necessary Skills:

  • Experienced project manager and process developer. Experience with Lean/SixSigma (or similar) processes and organizations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with the competitive CPG marketplace with vision of growing Cherry Republic market share (food experience strongly preferred).
  • Equally creative and analytical in order to move fluidly between idea generation, strategy building and execution.
  • Ability to discuss technical details and collaborate with production & design teams, while clearly communicating product story with customers, leadership, marketing and sales members.
  • Ability to resolve escalated issues arising from operational hurdles; requiring coordination with other departments.

The General Embassy Manager is responsible for:

  • Financial planning: Inventory management, formulating and hitting financial strategic goals, and devising performance indicators and expectations utilizing the financial foundation of each embassy (i.e. southern store locations). Creating and analyzing processes as well as understanding and teaching foundations of profitability.
  • “Bridging the Gap”: Fostering and maintaining connections between southern retail locations, with corporate, and between southern and northern stores. The GM connects, synthesizes, and custom-fits the core values of Cherry Republic organically to each embassy via transparent communication and teamwork. The GM supports the development of each embassy management team.
  • “Being the Rudder”: Maintaining and managing cultural activities and service standards throughout stores. Maintains intentional customer service that both fits the embassy/customer and achieves transparency and replicability throughout all stores.
  • Discernment and Support: Advocates for management and ambassador requests by liaising needs to Cherry Republic Leadership Team. Works with each core department to continually improve customer experience. Facilitates core company practices while maintaining unique embassy experiences.

Regular Essential Duties:

  • Recruitment & Training: Maintains store management by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training. Provides a safe and clean store environment. Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures. Trains, adheres, and advocates for EOS model
  • Staff Management: Directs store leadership by coaching embassy management. Monitors and appraises short term and long term sales goals. Holds all staff accountable to Cherry Republic store policies and procedures. Monitors all merchandising standards in accordance to Cherry Republic standards of Operation.
  • Budgeting: Works with finance to maintain budgeting including the following elements: store p&l’s, payroll, decor and expenses, repair and maintenance, and supplies (as they evolve.)
  • Leadership: Supports training specialist in facilitation of staff training through CR 101 & Service from the Heart. Exudes CR’s values and acts as a role model for all staff members. Supports team development (management skills, crossover skills, skills for company growth). Nurtures support of staff development both personally and professionally by fostering company culture.
  • Community and B2B Outreach: Supports embassy leadership in development of area and community relationships. Facilitates amplification of the brand through support of staff volunteering, networking, and donations utilizing the company core value of Liberty .Supports embassy management in local business outreach. Liaise with HQ around structure and process as it evolves.
  • Store Opening Procedures:
    • Initiation of new brick and mortar contract negotiations. Being able to analyze and predict store success, as well as ability to assist in the fluctuation and setting of expectations of elements such as store traffic, sales, inventory, etc. to understand how to build a profitable store.
    • Maintaining and facilitating embassy capital improvements annually.
    • Cultivation and maintenance of the internal store opening process as it develops.

Necessary Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of G-Suite and specifically excel/google sheets, Adobe products, and familiarity with ERP systems as well as online payroll processes.

Cherry Republic’s Retail Ambassador helps to provide a quality customer service experience by assisting customers and providing overall support to Retail Management and staff. This role will be cross-trained to work in several customer-facing areas, including cashier, sales floor, and soda tasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Retail Management as directed in accomplishing operational and customer service oriented tasks and responsibilities.
