Cherry Walnut Bread


Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4  cup  unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 3/4  cup  whole wheat flour
  • 7/8  cup  Sugar
  • 1/2  teaspoon  salt
  • 1/4  teaspoon  baking soda
  • 1  tablespoon  baking powder
  • 1  cup  chopped walnuts
  • 1  cup  Dried Cherries
  • 1  large egg, beaten
  • 1/3  cup  cooking oil
  • 2/3  cup  milk
  • 1  cup  water
  • 1  teaspoon  vanilla
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In large bowl, mix dry ingredients.
Stir in walnuts and Dried Cherries.
Beat egg in a medium bowl. Stir in cooking oil, milk, water & vanilla.
Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture.
Stir only until moistened, do not overmix.
Pour into a well-greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.
Bake 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
