Free Ice Cream this Weekend in Glen Arbor! Continuing a tradition that we started 5 years ago, we are giving away free ice cream this Sunday, May 18th in our Glen Arbor Café. Enjoy free ice cream from 9 am to 5 pm, and at 1 pm there will be a Winner-Take-Half Sundae Eating Contest. A $5 entry fee buys you the chance to test your ice cream eating skills against past winners and other worthy opponents. At the end the entry fees will be added up and divided in half, one half going to the winner and the other to the winner's favorite charity. |

Young Professionals Meet at the State Theatre! Yesterday, Cherry Republic sponsored the first event in the Lunch & Learn Series, hosted by the Young Professionals wing of the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce. Cherry Republic treated all attendees to a box lunch as they enjoyed the terrific movie short "Roaming Through Michigan," a 1949 MGM travelogue highlighting Northern Michigan on the big screen at the State Theatre. You can watch it on YouTube. (We must warn you: YouTube has some questionable content around the video.) |

Around Glen Arbor Last night was our 10-day-old baby Hawthorn's coming out party. He went to our Sleeping Bear Chamber's Annual dinner and heard all the news there. June 19th is Girls' Night Out. September 13 is the Micro Beer and BBQ event. And on July 4, 2009, fireworks will be back!!! Oh, and he saw a great slide show of Glen Arbor. After this he bopped over to a Glen Arbor township Zoning and Planning meeting to hear his uncle Mike speak on behalf of The River miniature golf course. All was well accepted. Oh, and here is a picture of baby Hawk and family. |
